Hmm, even nostalgia doesn't work like that for me - when Raptor came out i already had better shoot 'em ups on the Amiga and Megadrive to play so i didn't much like it then either.Ī little "research" (okay, i looked at Wikipedia) reveals that the DotEmu version of Raptor has all the issues removed that were in previous Windows-based versions (as well as adding compatibility for 32- and 64-bit flavours of Windows), supports multiple display resolutions and offers a graphical enhancement that can be turned off for nostalgia's sake. Raptor is one of those few games I played as a child where I actually followed through on the shareware screen and and bought the full version. and where is all this Raptor love suddenly coming from?! Hard to tell, but seems to just be a tweak of the Windows version that Mountain King Studios were already distributing.
